Maple Walnut Smoothie
Chocolate. Walnuts. Maple Syrup. Such a beautiful combination that will leave you feeling super satisfied.
1 Serve Clean Lean Protein Rich Chocolate
300ml Oat Milk (or milk of choice)
2 Tbsp Walnut Butter
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
Handful of Ice
You can replace the ice with half a frozen banana.
You can use Sweetnz Golden Brown instead of Maple Syrup if you want to reduce the sugar content
You can use Clean Lean Protein Real Coffee instead of the Rich Chocolate for a coffee flavour hit.
We hear about peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter… but never really walnut butter. Walnut butter is so simple to make and brings a beautiful depth to smoothies and baking. It has a bitter hit that goes so beautifully in this smoothie with maple syrup and chocolate Clean Lean Protein.
Walnuts are a great plant source of omega 3 fatty acids. They are rich in antioxidants and may help reduce inflammation. Walnuts may help promote a healthy gut and reduce the risk of some cancers. They have also been shown to help control appetite, manage type 2 diabetes, lower blood pressure, and support brain function. Walnuts are so good for us, and this smoothie is a delicious way to have some! Let us know what you think!

Blend all the ingredients together. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
2 cups Walnuts
½ tsp Salt
Put the walnuts on a baking tray and bake at 150 C for 12 -15mins. Be careful not to burn the walnuts, if you have a ‘hot’ oven, turn it down to 140 C and be sure to keep an eye on them. Once they are nicely toasted and fragrant, remove them from the oven to cool. Place them in a food processor with the salt and process until the walnuts turn into a runny and smooth butter.
