How much caffeine is in the Real Coffee, Vanilla Matcha and Coffee Coconut MCTs Clean Lean Protein?
Real Coffee - About 20mg of caffeine per 25g serving. Vanilla Matcha -
About 70mg per 25g serving. Coffee Coconut MCTs - about 10-15mg per 25g
serving.
Is Clean Lean Protein safe to take while pregnant and breastfeeding?
Yes, we have been advised that it is safe, however we always recommend
that you consult your health care professional if you have any questions
or concerns.
Is Clean Lean Protein ok for coeliacs & vegans?
Yes. Clean Lean Protein is certified gluten free so it is safe for coeliacs and 100% vegan.
How can Clean Lean Protein be Paleo and lectin free?
Nuzest Clean Lean Protein is definitely suitable for Paleos. One of the
main reasons Paleos do not eat legumes is because of the
anti-nutritional factors such as Lectins and Phytates. The advantage to
Paleos with our pea protein isolate is that lectins are completely
removed in the isolation process and the remaining phytic acid is
negligible. As there is no need to add gums or processing aids, and with
nothing added except natural flavour and katemphe fruit extract, the
result is a highly digestible protein supplement; easy on the stomach
and easily absorbed.
What is the ph level of Clean Lean Protein?
If you follow or are considering following an alkaline diet, then Nuzest Clean Lean Protein is an ideal choice to add to your daily food intake. Nuzest Clean Lean Protein is made from golden pea protein isolate, the world’s ONLY alkaline protein with a pH reading of 7.8!
Where do you source your peas for the pea isolate and where is the powder is manufactured
We have deliberately chosen pea protein and to source that protein from Europe. The soil, air and water quality of Northern France are generally regarded to be very safe for growing and the process used for isolation is completely free of chemicals. Consumers can feel confident they are selecting a safe vegan protein, rather than fear they are ingesting a protein powder tainted with contaminants.
Are there any sweeteners in any of your protein powders?
Clean Lean Protein is naturally sweetened with a fruit protein derived from a West African plant called the Katemfe Fruit (African Serendipity Berry). The protein is known as Thaumatin. Thaumatin is a protein, but it is classified as a natural sweetener. It is digested in your body just like any other protein.
Is Clean Lean Protein ok for people with Crohn’s disease or Ulcerative Colitis?
Due to the absence of FODMAPs, anti-nutrients, allergens, and gastric
irritants, Clean Lean Protein is the perfect protein for people with
Crohn's Disease.
How much protein should I be taking after a workout?
This depends on the length of your workout, what your workout consisted of, and your physical size, along with your dietary structure and goals. As a rough rule of thumb, around 1/2 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight consumed within 30 minutes will help encourage recovery and repair of muscle tissue.
Is Clean Lean Protein Kosher?
The Pea Protein Isolate used in Clean Lean Protein is Kosher certified
and the manufacturer, which blends Clean Lean Protein, complies with
Kosher practices. The finished product however does not have an official Kosher certification.
Is Clean Lean Protein certified organic?
Our peas are grown in France and under strict conditions, and covered to reduce the risk of environmental damage and contamination.
Unfortunately, due to local regulations, this means they cannot be certified organic. You can rest assured though that the product is
pesticide, herbicide and GMO free. The only certified organic pea
proteins available at this time are of uncertain quality and so for the
time being we consider Clean Lean Protein to be 'better than organic'.
Why is it important that the product is 'alkaline'?
Our body requires finely controlled pH levels in the blood (as well as
tissues and other fluids) in order to maintain optimal health. Modern
diets and non-vegan protein sources may cause an increase in acidity in
the blood, which then needs to be buffered by the body breaking down
bone and muscle tissue to free up 'basic' (alkaline) compounds. Clean
Lean Protein provides a high level of good quality protein, without
contributing to acid overload in the body.
Can I consume products after the Best Before Date?
Best Before means that it is probably safe to consume past the best
before date, but that its nutritional value is likely to be degraded
depending on how it has been stored over that time. For example, if it
has been kept cool or in a refrigerator it is likely to last longer. In some regulatory environments, the advice is generally 3 months after
Best Before Date. However, even though products are likely to be
perfectly safe for several weeks past their Best Before Date, in the
interest of safety first, Nuzest does not recommend consuming products
past their Best Before or Expiry Date.
Why does my Clean Lean Protein froth when shaken?
When our Clean Lean Protein is stirred or shaken vigorously, the peptide bonds loosen, and the chain partially unwinds. As the protein unwinds, hydrophobic (cannot be mixed with water) and hydrophilic (can mix and dissolve in water) ends become exposed. The hydrophobic ends reach for the air, whereas the hydrophilic ends stay in the water, and then the proteins coagulate in a structure that’s holds on to air bubbles, resulting in froth.
We suggest you making it prior to drinking it, or blending it with some
fruit and plant based milk.
How much caffeine is in the Clean Lean Protein Real Coffee?
About 20mg per serving.
Why does my powder look static on my plastic scoop?
This is actually quite a common problem with fine isolate protein
powders and is often referred to as the jumping protein phenomenon. It’s
basically caused by static build up from the tub and/or the plastic
scoop.
Powders are poor conductors of electricity, this means that electrostatic charges can accumulate on/in them. Static may be highest in isolate powders i.e. powders that have been mixed, sieved, and/or ultra- filtered, normal processes of blending and packing our powder. It is this electrostatic build up on the powder that causes it to cling on to the plastic scoops or the walls of the plastic tubs.
The powder itself will be absolutely fine for consumption.
Why does the amount of powder provided per serve total more than the recommended serve size of 25g?
The scoop has been designed so that 2 ‘uncompacted’ and level scoops will amount to approximately 25g. The powder must not rise above the boundary of the scoop, and it must not be compacted to ensure accuracy.
We recognise it is very difficult to avoid compaction as the powder
tends to become less aerated during handling, transportation, and over
time as it sits on the shelf. As such, it is difficult to avoid the weight of 2 scoops increasing over time.
To ensure absolute accuracy in your measurement, the best option is to
weigh the powder using a kitchen scale. This is the only way to ensure
that you will always get 25g of powder and 19.8g of protein as stated in the nutritional panel.
Does Good Green Vitality contain caffeine?
The green tea and cocoa bean are included due to their amazing
antioxidant potential. They are high antioxidant containing extracts.
This means the relative antioxidant level is higher whilst caffeine
content will be diminished in the extraction process. The maximum amount of caffeine that could be expected from this amount of combined green tea and cocoa without extraction would be under approximately 7mg per serve (or about 1/25th of a small brewed coffee!), but in reality the amount would be negligible. Good Green Vitality should be completely
fine for a caffeine sensitive individual.
Is Good Green Vitality safe for diabetics?
Good Green Vitality is completely safe for diabetics. There are less
than 3 grams of carbohydrates per serve so the effect on blood glucose
is minimal; and, at around 40 calories per serve, any effect on insulin
in type 2 diabetics (and those with metabolic syndrome and pre-diabetic disorders) is almost nil. Good Green Vitality may even help those with diabetes due to the inclusion of ingredients such as chromium and green tea extracts that aid glycaemic control and improve insulin sensitivity.
How is Good Green Vitality labelled 'gluten free' when it contains barley and wheat grass?
The barley and wheat grass in Good Green Vitality are the growing
portion of the plant, not the grain. The grain is the part that contains
gluten. Every batch of Good Green Vitality is tested for gluten and is
certified gluten-free.
I have several health conditions and am taking a lot of medications. Is it OK for me to take Good Green Vitality?
There can often be drug-herb and drug-food interactions with poly drug
use. We always recommend that anyone with a pre-existing condition, and
those taking medication, consult with a suitably qualified health
practitioner before using any nutritional supplement.
Is Good Green Vitality safe for children?
According to Australian and New Zealand regulations, Good Green Vitality is suitable for children aged 4 and over. However the dosage for
children aged 4 - 14yrs is half that of an adult (1/2 scoop).
Regulations may vary from country to country but, in any event, we do
not recommend Good Green Vitality for anyone under the age of 4. Kids
Good Stuff is a better alternative for children as the formula was developed specifically for early childhood development.
Is Good Green Vitality suitable for coeliacs and vegans?
Yes, Good Green Vitality is suitable for both coeliacs, vegetarians and
vegans. None of the ingredients in Good Green Vitality are derived from
animal products and it is certified gluten free.
How is Good Green Vitality labelled as being 'Paleo friendly' when it contains pea isolate?
Good Green Vitality is Paleo friendly. The challenge with legumes on a
Paleo or Primal style diet is the 'anti-nutrients' that legumes contain.
Our natural enzymatic isolation process effectively removes the
phytates, lectins, saponins and trypsin inhibitors, leaving a highly
digestible protein that is free of the problems associated with legumes.
Is Good Green Vitality safe to take during pregnancy?
There is nothing in Good Green Vitality that is contraindicated during
pregnancy. We have designed Good Green Vitality to be a safe, every day
formula for all adult populations. Note: Rosemary is contraindicated for
pregnancy in high (therapeutic/herbal medical) doses but the miniscule
amount in Good Green Vitality is completely safe. However, we always
advise women who are pregnant or breastfeeding to seek independent
advice from their health practitioner first.
How is Good Green Vitality different from other greens products?
Firstly it's not just a 'greens' product. Many 'greens' products are
simply powdered foods without any fortification of essential vitamins
and minerals, or probiotics, bioflavonoids etc. Powdered food blends are OK for a little 'boost' in your smoothie but without taking
significantly more than the recommended teaspoon or two, they really do not offer significant supplementation. Of those 'greens' products that do strengthen their powdered foods with added vitamins, minerals, probiotics etc., you will find that Good Green Vitality has significantly higher levels of nutrients than most, if not all, products available in this category. Most importantly however are the forms of those ingredients. Good Green Vitality uses the most bioavailable, 'body-friendly', and effective forms available; many of which are not used by ANY of our competitors. It makes for a more effective, more efficient, and in some areas safer, formula to your health and wellbeing.
Why do I need Good Green Vitality (or any supplement)?
For nutritional insurance - to help plug the gaps in your diet due to
poor food quality, soil depletion and imperfect dietary choices; and
because of the demands our bodies make for extra nutrients due to
environmental toxins and our high-stress modern lifestyles. Nothing
should replace a balanced diet of real food - supplements simply help
fill the gaps.
How much iron is in Good Green Vitality?
There is 1mg iron naturally occurring in the Pisane and red marine algae present in Good Green Vitality.
Can I take Good Green Vitality if I am Histamine intolerant?
On balance, Good Green Vitality is considered a low-histamine food and
it has been used by people with histamine intolerance and other related conditions without negative effects (such as salicylate, amine, and glutamate intolerances). As with any condition, people with a diagnosed histamine intolerance should try any new food or product conservatively to gauge responses. Please speak to your health care professional if you have any questions or concerns.
Can I have Good Green Vitality if I am fructose intolerant?
The fructose in fruit and vegetable powders would be lower than that
found in fresh fruit and vegetables and Good Green Vitality should be ok
for those following a low fructose diet. In fact there are ingredients in Good Green Vitality that will support ahealthy gastrointestinal tract and it may be a great way to consume a
lot of the essential nutrients found in fruit and vegetables that they
may be lacking due to their intolerance.
As always we recommend checking the product with their health
practitioner prior to purchase/consumption.
