Maria Teresa grew up dancing in Mexico and has been actively working in the fitness industry since 1996, teaching a range of land and water group fitness classes.
Maria Teresa was instrumental in the successful launch of ZUMBA in 2009 in both New Zealand and Australia. Over the past decade she has trained thousands of instructors across the Australasia pacific region. She has now evolved to teach virtual instructor trainings and classes to her community since the start of the pandemic. She was inducted to the Roll of honour by Fitness Australia in 2016 for her contribution to the fitness industry.
Maria Teresa is the co-founder of www.mygroupmove.com an online platform that trains new instructors and supports current group fitness instructors. She is a regular presenter at Fitness conventions, such as FILEX, FITEX and ZUMBA
